Privacy policy

Who we are

Bible Scroll is operated by AUTONEER LLC. Contact luke@autoneer.ai with privacy questions or requests. This policy covers the Bible Scroll app and its support website.

Information on your device

Your onboarding answers, reading interests, saved verses, reading position, notification preferences, and daily reading progress are stored on your device. Reading recommendations are calculated locally. We do not upload these answers, your reading timer, or your saved library to our servers or Superwall. This release has no Bible Scroll account or public Prayer Wall.

Screen Time

With your permission, Apple’s Screen Time controls let you select apps, categories, and websites to block. Apple represents selections with opaque tokens. We store those tokens locally in an App Group shared only with our daily-monitor extension. We do not export selected-app identities, tokens, or cross-app usage data. You can disable blocking in Bible Scroll Settings or revoke access in iPhone Settings.

Notifications

Reading reminders, session-completion alerts, and trial reminders are scheduled locally after permission is granted. No remote push token is collected for this feature. You can change or disable reminders in Bible Scroll Settings and manage permission in iPhone Settings.

Purchases and Superwall

Apple processes payments and maintains subscription transactions. We use verified StoreKit transactions to determine access and Superwall to provide purchase functionality and subscription analytics. Superwall may process purchase history, subscription status, an app-specific user identifier, vendor/device identifiers, app and device details, usage of purchase features, and approximate location derived from IP address. We do not send your onboarding name, age answer, reading interests, or Screen Time selections to Superwall. Apple handles payment-card information; we do not receive it.

Advertising measurement and your choice

We use AppsFlyer and Superwall to measure how people discover Bible Scroll and whether advertising leads to installs, trials, and subscriptions. On first launch, AppsFlyer may collect a device vendor identifier (IDFV), IP-derived coarse location, and install/app-launch events for AppsFlyer’s own measurement even before you answer Apple’s tracking prompt; we do not share that data with advertising partners such as Meta until you allow tracking. With your permission through that prompt, measurement may also involve the advertising identifier (IDFA) and sharing with advertising partners such as Meta, including subscription events, purchase amounts and currency, and app/device information that may be linked to advertising interactions outside Bible Scroll. We do not send verse references, reading history, saved verses, onboarding answers, religious beliefs, prayer content, or Screen Time selections to advertising partners.

If you decline tracking

Declining tracking does not affect your subscription or access to Bible Scroll. We do not link an AppsFlyer advertising identity to Superwall for users who have not authorized tracking. If you decline, never answer, or cannot authorize tracking, we do not share user-level AppsFlyer data with advertising partners such as Meta. The AppsFlyer SDK may still collect a device vendor identifier (IDFV) and network-derived coarse location for AppsFlyer’s own measurement; the advertising identifier (IDFA) is unavailable without tracking permission. Apple’s aggregate attribution tools (SKAdNetwork) may still measure installs and subscription conversions without identifying you to advertisers. You can change tracking permission in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Our website and content services

Expo hosts our website and content API. Online requests may include a passage reference, IP address, browser/device information, and technical request logs needed to deliver and protect the service. Published Study notes are prepared in advance. Opening a passage does not send your Scripture, interests, or prayers to an AI service. Our public API cannot start a paid AI-generation request.

External resources

Optional source and study links open third-party websites. Those sites may receive the requested page reference, your IP address, and browser information and apply their own privacy policies.

Support

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to provide so we can respond. Please do not send payment-card details, passwords, private Screen Time selections, or sensitive prayer information.

How information is used and shared

We use service data to provide purchases and content, maintain reliability and security, understand subscription performance, and answer support requests. Service providers process information for those purposes under applicable terms and privacy practices. Our measurement providers include AppsFlyer (appsflyer.com/legal/privacy-policy) and Superwall (superwall.com/legal/privacy-policy). We do not sell your personal information for money or share it with data brokers. When you allow tracking, we share the limited advertising-measurement data described above; privacy laws may define some of this as sharing or targeted-advertising processing. You can decline or withdraw tracking permission through iPhone Settings. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety. Providers may process data in countries other than your own.

Retention and your choices

Local settings and reading data remain on your device until you remove the app or delete them through available app controls; device backups follow your Apple settings. Removing the app does not cancel a subscription or erase Apple’s purchase records. Service and support records are retained as needed to provide the service, resolve requests, meet legal obligations, and protect against abuse. You may contact luke@autoneer.ai to request access, correction, or deletion of information we control. Some transaction records may need to be retained by Apple or our providers.

Children and changes

Bible Scroll is not offered as a children’s service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information may contact us. We will publish policy updates here with a revised effective date.
